Why am I talking about this? I have drifted away from talking about my own illness in my attempts to help others cope with theirs. But, I believe that we can learn more when we let ourselves be a bit vulnerable, so I wanted to share more of my journey with you, my teachers. I live with bipolar disorder, a mood disorder in which the person suffers from extreme ups (manias) and downs (depressions). This list features my 25 lessons, but a lot of them are universal truths that many people who suffer from mental illness-- and many people who do not-- also experience.
